Love this place and it’s delicious food. Great views. Worth the drive. Hit it up on your way to la plata canyon or on the way back from Mesa verde.

If you are going to Durango this a one of my Favorites! This romantic countryside cafe flaunts Euro style with American overtones. Think tasty and creative – chef Miguel Carrillo serves up Duck Two Ways (seared with a pomegranate glaze) and poblano chilies stuffed with strip steak. Weekend brunch makes playful twists on old favorites, best enjoyed on the patio. It‘s located in Hesperus, 10 miles west of Durango on Highway 140. Beef Bourguignon - filet of beef, carrots, celery, and onions, with garlic mashed potatoes Roasted Cornish Hen with Sauce Chasseur - topped with mushroom and tomato white wine cream sauce, served with oven roasted potatoes Shrimp Linguine - in champagne sauce with pinons, fresh tomatoes and capers Chicken Pot Pie - poached chicken, spring vegetables, shitake mushrooms baked in a delicate sauce topped with puff pastry Grilled Top Sirloin - with bordelaise, garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach Cannelloni Marinara - served with broccolini Fennel Crusted Pork Tenderloin - with a pancetta and balsamic sauce, served with polenta and grilled asparagus Salmon a la Meuniere -pan seared with lemon and capers, served with rice and sugar snap peas Grilled Calamari with Cannellini Beans - served with braised spinach Confit of Chicken - leg and thigh served with roasted beets and carrots & ancient grain polenta
