St.Pete must. The "Swan lake" you could see in numerous locations during summer time. This is done for tourists. But true dance and music lovers would go to Mariinskiy even if it would not be a "Swan lake". Apart from the historical building of Mariinskiy there is a "new" Mariinskiy nearby which is as good and even with better acoustics. Also Mariinskiy Concert hall is a perfect place beloved by peterburgers

The Mariinskiy Theatre is a historic theater of opera and ballet in Saint Petersburg. It opened in 1860 & became the pre-eminent music theater of late 19th century Russia, where many of the stage masterpieces of Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, and Rimsky-Korsakov received their premieres. Through most of the Soviet era, it was known as the Kirov Theater. Today, the Mariinskiy Theater is home to the Mariinskiy Ballet, Mariinskiy Opera and Mariinskiy Orchestra.
