Today, most of what you see along Elm Hill was built during the 16th century after a fire destroyed many of the original medieval buildings. You have to visit Elm Hill - it's the picture-postcard perfect medieval street, and if you start from Princes Street it will lead you down to Tombland and the Cathedral.
