Take the Goldline subway and get off at the Little Tokyo/Arts District Station. This area is very walkable and has a lot to explore. You can check out historic Little Tokyo or wander over into the Arts District. The Geffen Contemporary at Moca and the Japanese American Museum are just across the street from the train platform.
