A great pub that’s a 40 minute walk (or 5 minute drive) from the Parlour. It has an award winning restaurant and a great beer garden with amazing views over The Valley. Booking is highly recommended! Open Wednesday to Sunday. 01434 602814

Perched on top of a hill overlooking Hexham the Rat Inn is a lovely pub -for meat lovers they do fantastic locally sourced beef steaks cooked on the bone priced by weight.

Originally a drovers inn conveniently situated just a few miles from the market town of Hexham,the Rat is an historic 18th century inn with a colourful past. Since Phil and Karen took over in 2007 the pub has also earned an enviable reputation for locally sourced, seasonal produce. Number 15 in the Top 50 Gastro pubs in Britain. One of our favourites and definitely worth booking.

Lovely local pub just outside of town up in the hills. The welcome is always warm, they serve a great selection of cocktails, gin and wine and the food is always spot on with an ever-changing seasonal menu. They often even have oysters as a snack too!
