Located only a mile from our cabin, the XY Lakes trail is a great place to stretch your legs. The loop is roughly 3 miles and relatively flat.

Take an easy hike (about 3 1/2 miles) through the forest. There are some high spots on the trails where you can see Denali. Pick blueberries when they are in season (but be careful not to crush the plants so that we can enjoy blueberries in future seasons).

This is a great spot if you want to go swimming in one of the local lakes, or take a scenic ski, walk, or run. It's very beautiful, just watch out and be respectful of the wildlife. And wear bug spray in the summer! It's gorgeous year-round, with groomed ski trails in the winter. Please also note that during "break up" in the spring, the trails may be closed as the snow melts and before the ground dries out to avoid making ruts.

It's just down the road (1 minute drive) and there's 5 beautiful lakes and over 3 miles of trails. Bring a swimsuit, a bike, running shoes, or just have a nice walk around the Lakes. If it's winter, ski here!! You'll be better for it.
