A fun paved biking trail that runs between Canmore and Banff. At around 16km long, it's a good workout, especially if you go from Canmore to Banff (more uphill). Hire bikes from Gear Up on Bow Valley Trail if you don't have any with you.

One of the most popular things to do in Canmore is to ride the Rocky Mountain Legacy Trail from Canmore to Banff. The one-way distance is 26.8 kilometers. The trail runs from the visitor center at the west end of Canmore right through to the Bow Valley Parkway. Bring your own bikes or rent one at any one of Canmore's multiple bike shops.

Grab our townie bikes which are included in your rental and check out this scenic bikes only trail that connects the towns of Banff and Canmore. It takes about 2 hrs one way at a leisurely pace. Once you arrive in Banff, grab lunch or dinner, then to get back home you can jump on the ROAM transit bus which has bike racks! The ROAM bus is super easy to take even with your bikes, and it about $7 per person one way.

If you are up for a leisurely bike trip, this is a paved path that runs from Canmore right to Banff. Super worthwhile! Its very popular, and takes about 45 minutes to bike one way to Banff - its slightly uphill the entire way, but not difficult. The way back to Canmore form Banff takes about 25 mints as its a casual roll back downhill almost the entire way! The best part about this famous trail is that is situated off the road - so no cars to worry about! Keep an eye out for the beavers in the beaver dam and often Elk who graze alongside the path.
