This is New York City's bike share program. It's good for short trips point to point of under 30 minutes. It is not for touring all over the city. It'd cost too much. But look it up online to understand their policies and best practices. They are rapidly expanding the network. The nearest bike station is on 110th between 7th and 8th so it's a good 32 blocks south of me, which is about 1.5 miles or just under 3 km. It's a pleasant walk.
