The west end is only a 20 minute bus ride! The number 88 from Albany street. (Use Google) Not far from the end of Oval Road where you are staying. Get off at The Langham Hotel, also opposite the BBC. Then just at the cross roads, you have the four main streets. Regent street will take you to Piccadilly and Buckingham Palace. Then I first street, you have Marble Arch. Great for shopping, Selfridges and all big Department stores. Plus Hyde Park and lots of interesting buildings.
