Puriri Hills produces wines that stand well beside the greats of the “right bank”. Their blends are proprietary and reflect the percentages of Merlot, Carmenere, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec in their five acre vineyard. Low-yielding vines are manicured by hand. The wine is handmade, barrel aged, bottled and stored on the estate. Puriri Hills’ cellar door: 398 North Road, Clevedon, is open most weekends Sat. and Sun. from 1-4 PM, other times by appointment. Do telephone 09 2929264 to confirm, as the winemaker conducts all tastings and is sometimes not available.
