Downtown Alden is a charming little town. The Muffin Tin is well known for their incredible muffins and quiche. The Alden Mill House is a well known locally for their house made spices and any kitchen utensils. In the evening, enjoy wine tasting and the amazing sunsets over Torch Lake. Crushin it has their house made local wines that are extremely delicious and reasonably priced!

This town has so much to offer. Plenty of local shops, bars and great restaurants! If you want to take a nice scenic bike ride or walk on never ending trails. All these little towns have everything you would want!

Elk Rapids is perfect for a family day! We like a couple places right downtown within walking distance from the beach. First though, there’s a ice cream shop right downtown that’s a must. A little pricey but we love their waffle cones. You cannot go inside. You just order from an outside window.
Pearl’s is not walking distance but many vacationers love it. Great for kids and a neat atmosphere. I love their seafood chowder!
Cellar 152- great local made food. Outside porch.
TC Charlie quick food
Towns Club is a family bar and good food.
Chef Charlie pizza but honestly we love all the food at the General Store downtown. We get it to go and have a picnic at the beach.
My oldest is a Chef and she loves the Chinese restaurant.
One of our favorites, is American House but I’m not sure when they open.
These are all within walking distance.
The damn shop/food truck I have heard is very good but haven’t been yet.
My other daughter loves Shorts. They have a Mexican food truck there she loves but I haven’t been there either. 😁

Family/Park/Picnic
This beautiful town is a perfect whole day beach trip without the business of Traverse City. In Elk Rapids, they have a clean, big beach with plenty of parking. Perfect for families. Town is within walking distance with many choices for good food. I love walking around and looking at all the unique things this town has to offer. Shorts brewery is here as well but on a much smaller scale. Ethanology is a must to visit! One of my favorite places. The Walk of Art and bike trails are fabulous!

We have so many different attractions up in Northern Michigan besides the beauty and peacefulness. In the summer it is all about Torch Lake, the beaches and Traverse City. In the fall it is all about the beautiful changing colors of the trees. In the winter it is about hunting, snowmobiling on our beautifully groomed trails and skiing. And in the spring we fish and hunt for morel mushrooms.
