Monticello is a once thriving resort town for the rich and famous. Nowadays it is bouncing back from years of downturn and is showing signs of great improvement. Many shops are opened until about 8 pm. It features the staple Mcdonald's Burger King, KFC, Popeyes, Marshalls opened recently and I see a Hampton Inn is on its way to completion. Home Depot Walmart and Shoprite. In the winter there is skiing in the nearby snow mountain, and int he summer lots of hiking and trails in the many quaint towns. Bethel woods Center for the Performing Arts is a year round hot spot of entertainment, including the Harvest FEstival starting in September to November each year. A great place to get away from the bustle of the City but close enough to the outlets to make the trip a total winner.

Don't let the shantytown vibe fool you. this town is on the rise with trendy new eateries and pop up shops. The town has a ton of potential and will surely see a makeover in the coming years.
