The Cavendish Arms is much more than a Lake District hotel. It's a 450-year old coaching inn, set in the picturesque village of Cartmel, with quaint low beamed ceilings, a wealth of antique furniture and a blazing log fire. We serve excellent British food using the finest of local produce, wines and traditional beers and ales. With friendly relaxed service and very comfortable rooms, you will find yourself drifting away into Cartmel?s perfectly laid back way of life. This charming retreat also has a fine restaurant where you can dine by candlelight. We now have three luxury double rooms with en-suite bathrooms and don't forget to visit our designer-led shop Perfect English.

This is one of our absolute favourite places to eat, situated under the archway in the centre of Cartmel next door to L’Enclume . Nice beer garden out the back if fancying a drink and few nibbles in the sunshine. It can be popular so we advise booking in advance.
