The Arch of Santa Catalina is Antigua’s most iconic landmark, and probably one of the most recognizable symbols of Guatemala. Perched above a bustling street, this historic arch was built in the 1960’s, and its bright yellow stone, neat white trim and French clock make the perfect photo- especially with Volcan de Agua looming in the background.

Arco de Santa Catalina, we could say that it is the most representative image of Antigua, there are always people in the area to take the typical photograph of the arch. It is located on Calle del Arco, (5ta. avenida) where you can feel a good atmosphere, around it you will find different shops, art galleries, restaurants, bars etc. And best of all, we are located a few steps from Calle del Arco.

This arch was constructed in the 17th century as a passageway between the monastery and adjoining school.
