When in Taipei, you must try Taiwanese breakfast at least once. There are breakfast shops like this all over Taipei- look for the signs with the characters above or a basket of long fried crullers out front. They often look dinky and bare (as do most Taiwanese small eats shops) but you gotta try it out. Breakfast items to try: - sweetened soy milk, do jiang (not the processed, artificial tasting soy milk you get in the US) - fried dough stick (you tiao) + egg crepe (danbing) - turnip cake

24 hour local soy milk and dumpling shop! I like the fluffy sponge egg cake. Fun place to hang out at 2am when you can't sleep or have the late night munchies.
