Beautiful botanical gardens. Easiest to take the ferry to Dauphin Island and then a short drive.
Bellingrath Gardens and Home is the 65-acre public garden and historic home of Walter and Bessie Bellingrath, located on the Fowl River near Mobile, Alabama. Walter Bellingrath was one of the first Coca-Cola bottlers in the Southeast, and with his wealth built the estate garden and home.
Beautiful estate. Recommend taking the Mobile Bay Ferry from Fort Morgan to visit this estate. Good day trip.

“*On Mobile Bay* Reserve your seating ahead of time and try to go before or after popular eating hours. Most all causeway seafood restaurants are fabulous if this one has a long wait. Especially BlueGill and Original Oyster House! Kids will love the Ralph & Kacoos alligator area. ”

“This is a must if you have kids. However, if it’s summer go early to beat the heat or not at all. If the weather is nice you’ll have a blast.”

“This is a day trip away. The famous quote “Damn the torpedos, full speed ahead” took place at the most notorious battle this fort took part in, the Battle of Mobile Bay.”
