Great for a visit to this extensive delicatessen, full of highland specialities, not to mention a wee dram. Wander amongst the country clothing and home making departments. But don’t miss the short walk to the Falls of Bruar to the right of the clearance department.

Sometimes called The Harrods of the North. Good for gifts, clothing, eating and also for a nice walk up to the falls of Bruar.

“Starring Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who) , ITV series Victoria focuses on the early years of the Queen’s reign, during which time she visited Highland Perthshire on a number of occasions. Filming took place at Blair Castle to tell the story of one of those visits, with two of the estate’s native Highland ponies used as Victoria and Pince Albert’s own ponies. Several Atholl Highlanders, the régiment which Queen Victoria herself founded, also feature in the episode. Blair Castle has been the home of the Atholl family for more than seven centuries and visitors can discover its history against a backdrop of fine 18th century interiors and Scotish baronial architecture.”

“An excellent distillery tour which we enjoyed very much. Sampling included and we got to keep the glasses too!”

“A gem of a theatre with a full repertoire of plays, both contemporary and traditional, from May through to January.”

“The Hermitage offers a great walk of around 2km which shows off an excellent stretch of the river Braan. There is parking and a mobile catering unit in summer. The waterfall is incredible and the paths are good. It takes around 20mins to get there by car, from Stanley. It is just off the A9 heading north. ”

“A beautiful loch to see 'classic' Scotland. Why not get Wee Adventures to take you out on the water in canoes? There is also a lovely cafe called the Paperboat, right on the water at the Killin end. And just up the road is one of the best haberdashery's in Scotland!”
