The 184-mile trail next to the Thames passes through the riverside graveyard of All Saints’ Church in Marlow. You’re promised delightful scenery whether you head upriver towards Henley or down to Maidenhead. Walking west there are meadows with wildflowers and grazing livestock, river islands, churches (Bisham Church is lovely over the water), locks and weirs. Over the water you’ll get a clear view to beautiful mansions like Greenlands and Cliveden. The 18th-century Hambleden Mill and its accompanying lock are a joy, while within seconds of leaving Marlow you can look back and admire the church spire, bridge and yachts moored on the north bank.

River Walks can be accessed on Portsmouth road on the way to Kingston. From there it is possible to walk along the river for miles to Teddington, Richmond upon Thames and onwards towards London. Alternatively join the river at East Molesley to walk to Walton and Weybridge or cross the river to walk into Kingston.

You can walk to the river in 5mins. Turn right out the door, walk up to the top of the road and cross the road ahead (there's a crossing), turn left and walk along here for 1min and on your right is Powell Walk. Follow this down too the bottom, past the cute church and on your right is the river. You can walk in either direction - it's just beautiful!

Maidenhead is by the river Thames. There are beautiful walks along the tow path to Cookham, Marlow and Windsor. Sports clubs with rowing and kayaking. It leads to Ray Mill Island and Maidenhead Bridge as well as Brunel's Sounding Arch.

The river is approx 7 min walk away, and you can walk along the river in either direction. If you prefer you can also take Santander Bicycle. There is a rack at the bottom of my street. You can also catch a River Bus that goes in either direction and a lovely way to see & explore London. There is River Bus Stop approx 10-12 min walk from the flat or you can walk to the North side of Albert Bridge and catch it from there, approx 20 min walk
