This 25-acre green space is like Manhattan’s delicate fingernail, neatly plotted with monuments, memorials, gardens, sculptures and a farm-to-table café, plus killer waterfront views from the promenade. Though the area was named for the battery cannons it once housed, the fortified walls of Castle…
Nice spot for running or walking river side since Home. Ideally, you can start under the Manhattan Bridge, going down the East River up to Battery Park and then following the Hudson River up to Spring street to come back home. It's about 7 miles and it's our favorite hike !
The Battery, formerly known as Battery Park, is a 25-acre public park located at the southern tip of Manhattan Island in New York City facing New York Harbor.
This park is one of my absolute favorites across all of NY. It wraps around the waterfront and offers views of Jersey City and the Statue of Liberty. Lots of trees, fresh air, and bike paths abound. It's pet-friendly, and near some of the best restaurants in the Financial District/Seaport area.
Good place for bike riding. Start at Rockefeller park (follow the citibike bike map bike lanes) and go down to battery.

“One of our favorite NYC local bars. Great Happy Hour and super knowledge bartenders . Tip- After exploring the Lower East Side head to to the Tenement Museum across the street from the bar and then head to Excuse My French to unwind . ”

“This is Manhattan’s newest developing neighborhood, featuring stunning sleek architecture, a mall that houses some high end shopping, and “The Vessel” tourist attraction. For my money I wouldn’t shop here, but it is 100% worth the walk and the views. ”
