The most fascinating and entertaining spectacle that doesn't come at someone elses expense. Park near The Dunlavy.

Are you a fan of the batman?? Or maybe just bats in general?! Well this place is a must see! I personally have never gone, but in the evenings around 7:30 supposedly you see a flock of bats fly out to roam the night skies! Check it out!

True story: when the Waugh Bridge was built, no one realized it was the perfect structure to host a whole bunch of Mexican free-tailed bats. Well, apparently it was, because locals started noticing a bat colony around ‘99. Today, if you head to the viewing platform you’ll find the bats hanging…

Just under the Waughl Drive bridge between Allen Parkway and Memorial Drive on Buffalo Bayou millions of bats make their home. At Sunset, they take off from under the bridge in one huge group and fly south. The observation deck is located on the corner of Waugh Drive and Allen Parkway.

Every afternoon and sunset close to 200K bats take flight to eat for the night. Most Houstonians haven’t checked it out but it’s pretty magical if you can catch it. It’s along Buffalo Bayou where you can get some really good pics too.

“This is probably the best fried Chicken I have ever had! It has a little spice in the batter and the meat is so moist and tender! Very simple meal options, but my girls and I drive into Austin just to eat there and drive home. ”
