Walk to breakfast, brunch or lunch under umbrellas on the sand. Watch the beach goers parade! Go through the Little Tunnel, turn left onto the beach path. You know you've arrived when you see the Olympic size pool in front of the Marion Davies Beach House. If you are interested in Old Hollywood, take a docent-led tour of the Marion Davies Guest House, once occupied by Marlene Dietrich.

This might be my favorite restaurant in LA. It's literally on the beach. The food is excellent and the people watching is fantastic. The service is slow but it doesn't matter. You'll be sitting in front of the bike path watching people ride, walk and roller blade by. It gets crowded in the summer. If there's a long wait you can give your name and go for a walk. Casual and moderately priced. Wear sunscreen.
