This hike is halfway between Santa Monica and Malibu. When we have friends come to town, we take them here on the first or second day; from the top, you get amazing views of downtown and a good sense of perspective of the city. There’s something about the rhythm of hiking that starts to slow the mind down a bit and allows you to have more clarity. This is the kind of place that really only locals know. You can walk for 20, 30 minutes and not see another person. Aim for sunrise or sunset to appreciate the view and avoid the heat.

Located by where Sunset Blvd. meets the Pacific Coast Highway. Malibu and Santa Monica views with fresh ocean air. Moderate Hike.
Great views of the Pacific Ocean, Santa Monica and LA. Most visitors to LA don’t realize there’s great hiking here too. Park at the beginning of the trailhead - designated parking spots or park on the street. Make a loop or go up and down the same way. Give yourself about 2-3 hours to park, chill…
Epic hike! There is two vistas and two starting points for this hike. If you start at the church you will hit both and takes about 2.5 hours at a modest pace for a healthy individual. Both views are two of my fav in all LA. It’s much more peaceful ( and longer) then Runyon.
One of the most popular hikes on the westside. This moderate 1.5hr (1hr up and 30 mins down) hike will take you up the Santa Monica mountains where you get a great view of the beach.
Starting point with parking for a canyon hiking trail across chaparral grassland for Pacific views.
