Get to see the Liberty Statue and an amazing sunset for free. To do this you have to go to the Staten Ferry Station, and take the ferry to Staten Island. There you will have a nice shopping center too and can come back in the ferry again. It runs 24 hrs

This one hour round trip is a great way to see the harbor, statue of liberty, Ellis Island, etc. for free. Make your way in via the Metro North and connect to the subway or if you are really adventurous, you can drive during non-peak hours. From there you can spend the rest of the day exploring the city.

It is FREE and visitors can take a 25-minute voyage by water from Lower Manhattan to Staten Island and take in the Statue of Liberty and the stunning vistas of New York Harbor and the Manhattan skyline. The ferry docks at the St. George Ferry Terminal, just a short bus ride from the Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden.
