This rare gem has over 60 old-growth trees, a grassy play area with a volleyball net, an outdoor classroom, walking trails, native plant gardens and more! Atlanta's own "little Grand Canyon" is just across Briarlake Road on the Silvapine Trail side of the park. Citizens in this community banded together to save this forest from development in 2014, and now it is a beloved county park used daily by people in the surrounding neighborhoods. 25 species of birds have been identified by the Southern Wings Bird Club, including barred owls and red-shouldered hawks. Deer have been seen in the park early in the morning.
