Nestled in the Tonto National Forest in the Superstition Mountains, this 1904 town and stagecoach stop is a must-see when driving the historic Apache Trail. After exploring this historic buildings, hop on a saddle at the bar (yes, the bar really uses saddles for stools) and enjoy a burger, chili, and cold sarsaparilla.
The drive out to Tortilla Flat is the destination. It is a small and winding road that is very cool, but when you get to tortilla flat there is not much there except this bar/restaurant. Again, it's just a cool desert drive.
The drive to Tortilla Flat is an all time favorite. Sweeping views of Canyon Lake and the vast desert on the way up are breathtaking. Enjoy a soda and a burger once you get to the top at the saloon.
