It's BYOB at this venerable cash-only, BBQ spot with a rustic setting & live music outdoors. PRO TIP: Skip the wait at the restaurant and get your grub to-go at the outdoor vending stand, then enjoy your patio at the walk-on patio with your favorite six pack or wine.

This locally-famous BBQ joint offers an experience that you can only get in the Texas Hill Country. It's a bit rustic with screened-in porch seating and large, family-style picnic tables adjacent to the bustling pits of barbequed meats. I recommend making reservations through their website,…

You can't come to the Texas Hill Country without a visit to the Salt Lick. It's an hour drive through the Texas Hill Country and worth it. Wineries close by make it a great wine tour. Cash only!

Some of the very best local BBQ Texas has to offer! Bring your own alcohol to enjoy! Come see where the original Salt Lick began in the midst of rolling hills, abundant wildlife, century-old oak trees and native wildflowers.

“45 minute drive: Right next to Duchman's Winery, this elegant Italian restaurant is one of our favorites for a lovely meal, or wine and cheese in the garden. Little paths, arches, benches and tables make this place pure romance!”
