2 min drive from house. This cute little animal farm (cows, horses, sheep and ducks) is also a great café with stunning local views of the rolling hills. Perfect for brunch, coffee or lunch.

Along with being the place to eat with some of the most picturesque views in Launceston, Stonesthrow also gives visitors a taste of the country with animal encounters, beautiful natural walks around the lakes and bushland, farm fresh produce used in the cafe and house-made products to purchase such as sourdough and jams. They also have paddle boats which are great fun. They recently got some highland cattle calves! Our children always ask to go there.

This restaurant is situated overlooking a lake, with a camping area on the other side. Grab some of their punnets of fresh berries to take home, or some feed for the animals which the kids love to feed and pat- sheep, alpacas, miniature horses (or are they Shetlands?). Our favourite menu item is the scones with jam and cream.
