Site of the worlds first Scout camp in 1907. Walk to the Quay, then a short boat trip and a walk through the woods to see the Peacocks and RED squirrels. It makes a great long half day out. It also has a loverly little church in the woods with an old fashioned hand pump organ.

Unspoilt island in Poole Harbour - with its own castle. Notable wild peacocks, one of the few remaining colonies of red squirrels and being the birthplace of the Boy Scout movement.

Take the short ferry ride from either Poole Quay or Sandbanks to Brownsea Island. This island is owned by the National Trust and is one of the very few places in the UK where you will get to see the red squirrel

Zoo
“The 65 Acre park is home to the stars of TV's Monkey Life and Monkey Business and provides sanctuary for rescued and endangered primates from around the world, some of which are now part of an international breeding programme for endangered species. Daily keepers' talks provide a captivating insight into life at the park and it's inhabitants, while every visit will support this educational charity and it's residents. A family favourite all year round, there's no better time to take a trip to hang out with the animals. You can even support Monkey World in continuing their rescue and rehabilitation work by adopting a primate, giving you free entry to the park every day for a whole year!”
