This good value table d'hote set on an old sugar plantation, 10 minutes' drive from Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens, offers a prix fixe Creole menu and à la carte grills to a mix of tourists and locals. What's unusual is its collection of vintage cars including an Austin 16, Churchill's car, and a Wolseley 'police car' scattered among the fruits and spices used in its dishes. For the best view, and the sound of birdsong, opt for one of the four tables on the veranda.
