As an addition of fun things to do in NYC, why not take a FREE ferry ride and see the skyscrapers from an ever-widening distance. Perfect for warm sunny days. Catch glimpses of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. If you wish to walk around, there is a museum on Staten Island OR you can simply take a return ferry. If it's summer, then there are the beaches (like Coney Island - with the amusement park as well), all only a train-ride away!

Sure, you’ll find the Staten Island Ferry on almost every New York City tourist guide, but there’s a reason. This free ferry provides great views of the Statue of Liberty and the New York Harbor, and the 25-minute, one-way trip is just long enough. Once across, check out the St. George neighborhood or head back on another ferry for more great views.

The Staten Island Ferry is a free shuttle between Lower Manhattan and Staten Island. Although I can not recommend sightseeing in Staten Island, I do recommend Staten Island Ferry for some of the best views NYC has to offer.

The Ferry is free and it operates until maybe 10:00pm (check the schedule) It leaves from the south point of Manhattan to Staten Island every half hour and it returns to Manhattan... The view of Manhattan is very nice on sunny days or night time -- It's free :) Don't let anybody take your money (some not nice people have done that to the tourists!)--So you should just get on it and take your camera with you! They serve snacks and drinks on the ferry :) I hope you can enjoy it :)
