Look online about the hours when there is low tide so that you can explore all the way into the tail and take some nice pictures. Make sure to keep an eye on the time though. I always recommend the whale tail for people who enjoy a good walk because it’s a pretty far distance that is walked to get to the tip of the tail!

Translated as Whale's Tail National Park. This is the closest beach to the Buddha, and is considered to be a natural wonder of the natural world. The currents from the North and South Pacific Oceans meet here. Over millennia, these currents created a shelf of sand, volcanic rock, and stone in the shape of... you guessed it... a whale's tail that is only accessible during low tide. Download the free MioCimar app on Google Play or App Store to get the tide chart for your stay, and go 2 hours before low tide. This beach is also where you depart for whale and dolphin tours, and Park Admission is included in the price of your tour. If you are here during Whale Season, please don't miss this chance to see Momma Humpback Whales and their calves.

1 hour away from the Guesthouse by car. Hours: 7:00 - 16:00 p.m. The Marino Ballena National Park is located in the south pacific coast at the footsteps of the community’s of Uvita – Bahia Ballena, in the province of Puntarenas, Osa, Costa Rica. The park pertains to the Area of Conservation for the Osa region and was officially declared as a Marine National Park in 1989. The park covers an extension of 171 land hectares and 5,375 sea hectares and is named after the humpback whales that migrate from mid July and October, and again in December through March from feeding and mating grounds in the north and south hemispheres to the warm tropical waters of Costa Rica.
