Nature reserve as part of Christchurch harbour. Nice walks and a land train will take you from cafe to the end of the spit. ( 10 mins) dogs allowed!!!
A massive car park, but walk a couple of hundred metres and you'll find quiet and dramatic beaches. At the end of the spit, see the the ludicrously expensive beach huts in all their rainbow glory!
Beautiful headland a 10 min drive away. Walk along the beach, over the hill or through the woods with a cafe at the end amongst the beach huts.

“If you like Spanish food this is the place for you. Rustic cheap and freshly cooked. The portions are huge and cooked by the owner on display in the restaurant . We always have enough to take home for another meal. Delicious ”

“The nearest train station, a 10 min walk across the park (Go out of the station and turn left, take the first left and walk across the park for the easiest route - it takes much longer to walk the road route!!) 0.8 miles in distance if you follow the 'road' route and don't cut across Kings Park”

“This is one of our favourite past times - catch them like a local, we recommend buying a bag of bait from the fish stall at the quay or taking some bacon down with you, add a big stone to really weigh down your fishing net and drop it straight down and wait for the crabs to come and take a bite. The little slipway by the RNLI boathouse is a safe place to let your crabs return to the harbour at the end of the day (watch out it can be very slippery). ”
