Beautiful state park in Oro Valley, just 25 minutes north of downtown Tucson. Miles of hiking trails at the base of the Catalina Mountains.

Beautiful campground, 14 day limit, is in this State Park. Wifi is available, however, not cable tv. Who needs tv when you have all these wonderful trails to hike?

Wonderful place for camping and day trips. Hike to Romero Pools for a truly beautiful sight. After a good rain the landscape will be several shades of green and the water will be flowing. Entry is $7 per car, so carpool if you can.

Just north of Tucson in Oro Valley. For a short hike on the easy side, the Canyon Loop Trail is a 2.3-mile loop that has nice views and even some water crossings. The Romero Pools Trail is a challenging 7-mile out and back hike with rewarding small swimming holes (dependent on rainfall & season).

“Head west out of town, through Gates Pass. The vista is amazing: just try to count the saguaros!!! Then enjoy the friendly docents as they share their passion for all desert flora, fauna and creatures that make our Tucson desert special. Summer visitors can enjoy Saturday evening tours—arrive before sunset and watch the magical changes as nocturnal critters awake!”

Science Museum
“The Pima Air & Space Museum is one of the largest non-government funded aviation and space museums in the world! It is a 20 minute drive from Casa De Carter. It features over 350 historical aircrafts as well as a modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner. It also has six indoor exhibit hangars (three dedicated to WWII). In addition the museum operates bus tours of the 2,600-acre “Aircraft Boneyard”/U.S. military and government aircraft storage facility.”
