This beach is a 5 minute walk down Lake Street...I prefer the beaches at Marquette Park, Shelby, Wells Street or West Beach, but this is the closest. You can put a Jet Ski in the water here and there is plenty of parking. It is easy to bring the kayak down here, too...

Lake Street Beach. 860 North Lake Street, Gary. This local beach has public parking all year. Jet ski and small launchs are available. Directly adjacent to Miller Woods Beach, the westernmost beach in the national park. Explore the paved Chanute Trail through the dunes to Marquette Park.
