To visit the Monastery you must apply for a permit in advance. Times available for entry are as follows: 10am-12pm or 1-3pm Please note: due to the delta variant, you must be fully vaccinated and wearing a mask to enter the monastery grounds.

Chuang Yen Monastery is a Buddhist temple situated on 225 acres in Kent, Putnam County, New York, in the United States. The temple is home to the largest indoor statue of a Buddha in the Western Hemisphere. The name "Chuang Yen" means "Majestically Adorned"

closed due to Covid-19 Beautiful walking trails picturesque and serene areas. Well curated exhibits. The monastery serves a $6 vegetarian lunch on Saturdays and Sundays
