Construida en 1559, para conmemorar la entrada en Madrid de doña Margarita de Austria. Derribada y construida de nuevo en 1778 bajo Carlos III con mayores dimensiones y ornamentos. Monumento histórico nacional desde 1976.

One of the most known monuments in Madrid. Spectacular views of Calle Alcala from here. Retiro Park in one of the sides of the square. Cool terraces for eating or having a coffee day and night.

Agradable paseo con posibilidad de subir a barcas en el lago. Tiene parques infantiles y algunos animales como tortugas y patos por zonas. A determinadas horas pueden verse actuaciones de títeres y otras distracciones alrededor del lago de las barcas.
