Set on the exposed north coast of the Isle of Lewis the next stop is Iceland. This secluded section of the coast takes the full brunt of the Atlantic swells. The beach is made of a good stretch of golden sand flanked by rugged cliffs. At the north eastern end of the beach are a couple of sea stacks which are a favourite with photographers. It is great for families but the sea has strong currents and huge waves in windy weather so swimming is only possible in gentle weather and care should be taken at all times. It is immensely popular with surfers ang has been described as the best surfing beach in Europe!

If you plan a trip to the west side of Lewis then please stop at Dalmore beach. A superb location with awesome waves and a favourite for surfers. Great sand and scenery that your family will enjoy. Toilet facilities are available onsite as well as good parking. Take care in the water though as there are dangerous currents.

Dalmore is basically Dalbeag’s big brother. Another scenic beach located up the road 20 mins from the campsite.

A short drive from "Come By", Dalmore Beach is popular with all, whether it is just to enjoy the views and relax, or to be a bit more adventurous and surf.
