One of the oldest Cinemas still running in NZ. It's a bit expensive in NZ to go to the movies but if you want to go the this is the spot.

The best movie theatre possilby in New Zealand, also a lot of heritage from older cinemas in New Zealand that Allan has rescued over the years, bit of a museum.

Copied from their website: Te Awamutu's cinema, the Regent Theatre, is renowned throughout the country for being one of a very small number of high-quality provincial cinemas. In addition to an all-round quality movie experience there is also an impressive collection of movie memorabilia lining walls and foyer, taking one back to the early days of New Zealand cinema. The Regent Theatre has been in business since 1932 (see history). It has been managed since 1974 by movie enthusiast Allan Webb, the sole exhibitor and proprietor. Mr Webb has a real passion for the theatre—in addition to running his business he has published works on the history of regional cinema and specific theatres.
