It's a rocket. But it can not fly currently, because it is a monument, but still it's a real rocket. Also there is a small museum of aerospace here. You can take a metro from here to the embankment (but not to the other side of the city which is actually the middle of nowhere :)

The Museum and exhibition center "Samara Space" is one of the youngest museums of the Samara region. The official opening of the Museum was dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the Samara space engineering and took place on April 12, 2007. Музей-ракета. Экспозиция в данном музее не большая, но вот экскурсоводы, которые общались когда-то с космонавтами, а некоторые общаются и по сей день, произведут на вас впечатление! Рассказы о живом космосе, забавные, необычные истории из жизни космонавтов, приёмы пищи и различные курьёзы в космосе останутся в вашей памяти навсегда!
