Brew and Brownie is extremely popular. They offer a range of breakfast, lunch, brunch and drinks options to suit all. They are Vegetarian Friendly, have Vegan and Gluten Free Options too. The cakes and brownies are out of this world, I cannot recommend enough.

You’ll find the Brew & Brownie a short walk from North Parade through the leafy Museum Gardens. It’s a great little cafe serving top-notch coffee and cake. Try their American pancake stacks for breakfast or tuck into a tasty sandwich, toastie or salad for lunch.

This has to be one of the best coffee shops in York! #indieyork You will find this gem on Museum Street opposite the city library. You may have to wait for a table as it is so popular and cosy in size. The coffee is great, service warm and friendly and the pancake stack is amazing! This place is perfect for breakfast, brunch or a light bite. If you have space after you have eaten then you really should try their homemade brownie!

Excellent independent city centre cafe 15 minutes walk , usually very busy young student crowd. Great food and coffee
