Spring rolls and braised beef in a pared-down joint with written testimonials covering the walls.
Great Vietnamese kitchen frequented by locals and political staffers. The walls are covered in quotes handwritten by politicians over the years. A really interesting place to dine and fantastic Viet food options. They're BYO and the supermarket a few doors down has a grea liquor selection.
A hidden gem - ask for a recommendation from Mr Tan. The walls are lined with commendations from famous personalities and politicians.

“Vibe: Intimate post work drinks. A small bar upstairs in Manuka where low booths are sectioned off by curtains of metal chains and dangling pendants lights cast a soft glow. Look out for burlesque, trivia and "naked girls reading".”

“Cute and close cafe in Manuka (10 minutes walk away), with its famous award-winning coffee. Good for breakfast and brunch, but is packed out, so go early!”

“Damien D'Browe is the Chef that has owned this restaurant for over 20 years. It's a Canberra institution for locals. Damien will always come to your table to welcome you and tell you the specials in person. Great food, options for vegetarians, interesting offal options. Try the Pork Chop, the Seafood Pie or the mushrooms, they're all delicious and his desserts are incredible. The restaurant is BYO and only serves sparkling water, tea and coffee for drinks, but the supermarket just around the corner has a variety of liquor options.”
