Worth a trip even for the cafe . The gorge itself is intriguing but equally the drive up through from Pateley Bridge , Ramsgill and lofthouse . Scar Resovoir is en route to here too which is worth a walk too . From scar you can take the route towards Angram .

How Stean Gorge is a SSSI and home to the only Via Ferrata - High wire course in Yorkshire and is the only attraction to have a cantilevered café in the UK. The drive from Springhill Farm up the dale to How Stean is breathtaking and not to be missed if you are visiting Nidderdale.
