A very famous place to visit, with a temple with a huge Buddha. My husband can tell you more... also little streets around are worth visiting, with interesting little shops.

Entertainment & Activities

A big large park with lots to do with little kids, only 1 min. walk from station. Accessible with a stroller too. Have water play in the summer and is open all year round. For a small fee, all the family can enjoy this place. Also great place for picnic.

Food Scene

One of the most modern suburb shopping and dining area. A good non-smoking place (there are designated closed smoking areas) to stop on the way home to enjoy a nice, affordable meal, from around 1000 yen or so (depending on the restaurant). Great for families too. I particularly enjoy Nana's green tea for a healthy rice bowl meal with miso soup, which is on the third floor of the station, or the Korean restaurant on the fifth floor of the shopping center on the other side of the street (their purukogi beef set is excellent). Also there are two nice bakery cafes that offer nice pastry (drinks are ok): Little Mermaid and Kobeya.

Kaffir Lime in Omotesando: The best Thai restaurant I found in Japan. Really authentic! They have the best pad thai, served in a real thai fashion. Note: also non-smoking.

Another great place to have a meal on the way to or from our place. I recommend Obon de gohan, a Japanese style restaurant with affordable menu. All you can eat delicious rice (there are three types you can chose from) and miso soup. Very family friendly too. All restaurants around the station are non-smoking. Can enjoy a walk along the river before or after a meal. There is also a nice, though very small, Japanese garden near the river.

At our station, there is a bakery cafe called Vie de France. An option for breakfast, or something to grab to eat on the go. There are also a few restaurants around, from budget one like sukiya (with meat rice bowls) or more fancy ones. There is also a big Starbucks about 600m from our home.

Drinks & Nightlife

A nice non-smoking place to have a drink with friends or with your sweetheart. If you like craft beer, there is a restaurant in the middle of the 7th floor that offers a nice selection of draft beer. I don't recommend the sangria there, though, not very good. Red wine is ok, and food is also great, though a bit pricey. Flowers common is another restaurant on 7th floor that is worth going. Good drinks and good food too.

Getting Around

The train line closest to our home is Denentoshi line. It can bring you directly to the famous Shibuya area (the one area we always see in movies) in about 35min. by local train, or shorter if you transfer to express train in Azamino (the next station after ours). When you arrive in Shibuya, you can get off or stay in the train and continue towards center Tokyo and Tokyo Sky Tree (Oshiage stop, double check this is accurate). The line will change name to Hanzomon line, but it is the same train. You also need to change in Azamino for the subway blue line to go to the center of Yokohama, Chinatown and I believe Kamakura as well.
