Parks & Nature
Max Patch and the Appalachian Trail (spectacular bald with many hiking options, 3 miles from here) are most easily accessed off of Max Patch Rd. From the cabin, turn left up Poplar Gap road, then right onto Little Creek road (gravel). Follow Little Creek Rd for about a mile + to the intersection with Max Patch Rd. Turn right onto Max Patch Rd and the parking lot of the Max Patch trailhead will be on the right after about 1.5 miles.
