As you travel from the airport to the house you will drive through Bay St. which is the downtown area of New Providence. There are duty free jewelry stores, restaurants, the local straw market and banks. This street is also the hub for where the cruise ship passengers disembark so there is also much to enjoy on the strip at night.

Atlantis is located on Paradise Island about 1/2 mile from the house by car. It is a touristy area where activities are going on day and night. Try the glass bottom boat cruise or the booze cruise during the day and dance the night away or take your chances in the casino all day and all night. There is also a large stretch of beach on the island where one can go parasailing or on the jet skis. Walk around and you may spot a celebrity or two having fun in The Bahamas.

Getting Around
Public Transportation in the area is not very reliable as all the bus services are privately owned. We have a van that seats 8 persons, including the driver that you can rent for $80/day insurance included.

If you want to experience authentic Bahamian cuisine which by the way I was told is the best in the world, check out the Fish Fry on Arawak Cay which is located on West Bay Street. There are numerous restaurants where you can try all manner of Bahamian food. Bring your appetite and try the delicious conch salad which is served mild or spicy, your preference, or the cracked conch served with peas & rice, cole slaw, macaroni & cheese all Bahamian favorites.
