One of the most famous restaurants in the city. This creole steakhouse fashioned the aged steak first and is a landmark of the civil rights movement. You may need reservations to eat here so call ahead. But the $20 lunch buffet is AWESOME!

This is not hot dogs this is more like bratwurst. This is a place to get an alligator dog with lots of fancy toppings and a beer.

It's just a quick streetcar ride from the house on the Rampart line and a short walk to this brunch spot but its the best of the three in the city. Shorter line, better food, awesome building (it's an old bank). Use the NoWait app to checkin before you get there to avoid a line. If you have to wait, go to Mags 940 for a cocktail (sobriety is subjective in NOLA) while you wait.

Oldest bar in the USA, still lit mostly by candlelight at night. This pirate bar is my favorite in the city. Try the Purple Drink or a Hurricane here. This bar has a piano at night and is a great time.

This is when Princess Stephanie works (also an Airbnb host) she is hilarious drag personality but is also one of the top mixologists in the nation (no kidding). Like an old-timey pharmacist, she prescribes your drink if you let her and it's always a hit. This is a bar that has some fun shows, dance classes, mixology, and yet has the feel of being in the new Orleans equivalent of Cheers just with an occasional character as your bartender.

The entrance to this national park is only 4 blocks down St. Phillip. This houses the last of the venues when Jazz was made. Often has events on the Congo Square side. Awesome place to relax.
