The Avalon Theatre is located in the lower level of the Catalina Casino and features first-run movies. The theatre seats 1,184 people and is 138 feet across and 43 feet high. Art deco murals by John Gabriel Beckman adorn the walls and create a stunning ambiance. You’ll be amazed by the wonderful acoustic offered in the theatre. Movies are shown nightly at 7:30 pm. See a list of current and upcoming features below. Enjoy a performance from the original 4-manual, 16 rank theatre pipe organ built by the Page Organ Company of Lima, Ohio every Friday and Saturday evening, one hour before the movie starts.
Take a trip down memory lane to the days when bands were big and movies were just beginning to talk. The Catalina Casino epitomizes everything glamorous about Santa Catalina Island.
