Parks & Nature

At the bottom of the drive way turn left; two house down is a path that leads to Sooke Bluffs Park. This is a classic WestCoast beach. You can see the across the Strait of Juan de Fuca at the Olympic Mountains in Washington. This is a great place to watch the sun set. If you head to your left along the beach you can walk all the way to Whiffin Spit. CAUTION: make sure the tide is out and staying out long enough for you to make the journey! Take your wallet with you and treat yourself to a well earned drink at Sooke Harbour House.

The Sea to Sea is the second largest of the regional parks. This Regional Wilderness Area encompasses almost 4,000 hectares. The park offers outstanding outdoor wilderness recreation that allows park visitors to remain in close touch with the natural environment. This parkland is part of the Sea to Sea Green Blue Belt, a corridor of protected green space linking Saanich Inlet in the east to Juan de Fuca Strait in the west. Directions: Follow Hwy 14 toward Victoria - turn Left onto Harbourview Road (from A Little Something to the turn off for Harbourview Rd it is 8 km/11 mins). Harbourview Rd becomes Sooke Mountain Park Road

Sooke Potholes Provincial Park provides access to the series of deep, polished rock pools and potholes carved naturally into the bedrock of the Sooke River. This area is a favourite day-use destination for many local and regional residents. The water in this very popular park is beautifully clean and clear, providing a wonderful swimming and picnicking destination in the summer.

15 minute drive from A Little Something. Head towards Victoria on Sooke Road - go through Sooke and cross over the Sooke River bridge. Turn Left onto Sooke River Road - the road goes right into the park. Sooke Potholes Provincial Park provides access to the series of deep, polished rock pools and potholes carved naturally into the bedrock of the Sooke River. This area is a favourite day-use destination for many local and regional residents. The water in this very popular park is beautifully clean and clear, providing a wonderful swimming and picnicking destination in the summer.
Waterfront woodland walking trails, access to a public pier and luxurious walled gardens are just some of the attributes this park has to offer. The park also features an events area, amphitheatre and displays artwork from resident artists. 
The bottom of Ed MacGregor Park is one of the access points to the new Sooke Marine Boardwalk, which traces the profile of the harbour front towards the Rotary Pier. The boardwalk makes for a tranquil sunset stroll.

The bottom of Ed MacGregor Park is one of the access points to the new Sooke Marine Boardwalk, which traces the profile of the harbour front towards the Rotary Pier. The boardwalk makes for a tranquil sunset stroll.
Quimper Park is at the entrance to Whiffin Spit; an excellent vantage point for observing seabirds, shorebirds, marine mammals & intertidal life.

This park is essentially backcountry with no facilities. Be prepared for all kinds of weather and conditions. This is bear/cougar country. There is no road access into this park. Walk/hiking access is via Harbour View Road, and visitors must be prepared to wade across Charters River as there are no bridges. Located in the Sooke Mountains, Sooke Mountain Provincial Park is a rugged, undeveloped natural area with no facilities or maintained trails. For the experienced mountain biker and backwoods hiker, this park is an unspoiled wilderness playground.

The Sooke Fine Arts Show has established itself as Vancouver Island's premier juried  fine art show  -  usually scheduled for the last few days in July and the first few days in August (10 day Show - open from 10am until 9pm daily) at the SEAPARC Leisure Complex.
