The friendly folks at the WCS make the best breakfast sandwiches and their regular sandwiches are a go to for us. In the summer, stop by on your way to Lake St. Catherine and grab everything you need for a fabulous picnic lunch!

It's close by, Manchester is a great, walkable town with lots of dining options, and the gardens and surrounding landscapes are as gorgeous as the museum itself! We especially liked the Pullman train car exhibit.

The Hyde is a gem of a museum and so close! WE have seen exhibits by Georgia O'Keefe and Alphonse Mucha in addition to their great private collection which features everything from early renaissance to impressionist pieces. And Glens Falls is a sweet little city with lots of great dining options.

And Glens Falls is a sweet little city with lots of great dining options.

This is one of our favorite places. Not only do they sell the amazing wood products they craft on site, they also have a vast kitchen supply store with lots of great, high end items. A lovely way to spend a few moments just browsing or picking up that lemon squeezer you've been wanting!

Not only will you find a good pair of barn boots, a fence post digger, and a manure shovel, you will also be able to grab a bite to eat in their sweet, informal cafe area and then head to the clothing section for a really nice selection of men's and women's clothing. They also have a children's toy/clothing section as well as an ample selection of Vermont-centric souvenir/gift items.

One of our favorite places! Great selection of good quality men's, women's, and children's clothing and shoes. Old timey feel because it's been there forever! They have the best selection of Dansko, Birkenstock, and Blundstone footwear, among others, that we know of.

If you have time, take a scenic drive to Weston and pop in at the Vermont Country Store. Charmingly nostalgic and a fun place to poke around.... you'll inevitably relive some of your favorite childhood moments with their plethora of throwback items from penny candy to toys that you thought only existed in your memory! There's also a restaurant on site, though it's always been so packed when we've visited that we've never been able to try it! Though the place is quite touristy, it's worth braving the throngs at least once!

This new tap room/brewery is fast becoming known for their amazing brews and their unique space, loaded with eclectic flair and family friendly ambiance. Situated in lovely downtown Brandon, the Neshobe River flows, literally, right beneath the brewery and the views from their windows are delightful. But it's the beer that's captivating tastebuds all across the state. We love this place so much, in fact, that we're giving one token per booking good for a pour in their taproom, compliments of Wayward Goose Farm. Why are we so excited about RCA co.? Well, our son Pete and our son in law Andy are 2 of the 3 owners/brewers!

If you have the time, we recommend the 2 hour drive up route 22A along Lake Champlain to explore Burlington. Stop in at 3 Squares Cafe in Vergennes because their menu is the best! Then enjoy the breathtaking views of Vermont's Green Mountains to the east and the Adirondack Mountains across the lake to the west. Once you get to Burlington, among other things, stop in at the Farmhouse Restaurant for what will be a fantastic meal!
