La vista è mozzafiato su Trapani, soprattutto se al ritorno la si prende quando tramonta il sole, i colori che si riflettono nelle saline sono unici. Visitare San Giuliano, così si chiamava in origine, vuol dire perdersi tra mille scorci di stradine basolate, fortificazioni, antiche chiese (la Matrice e Sant’Orsola), conventi, botteghe artigiane (produzione di ceramica, dolci tipici, tappeti), pinete e giardini, per poi smarrirsi, sul bordo della cittadina, in panorami mozzafiato verso le isole Egadi, lo Stagnone, le Saline e la Torretta Pepoli.
I always recommend taking the cable car that from Trapani, to be exact Casa Santa (fraction of the Municipality of Erice) leads up to the Erice summit. The view of Trapani is breathtaking, especially if on the way back you take it when the sun sets, the colors that are reflected in the salt pans are unique. Visiting San Giuliano, as it was originally called, means getting lost in a thousand glimpses of cobbled streets, fortifications, ancient churches (la Matrice and Sant'Orsola), convents, craft shops (production of ceramics, typical sweets, carpets), pine forests and gardens, to then get lost, on the edge of the town, in breathtaking views towards the Egadi islands, the Stagnone, the Saline and the Torretta Pepoli.
